You help local bakery get exposure
for that, we thank you!
Lyndon Baines Johnson, 36 th president of the United States, was the most prominent graduate from Texas State University located just blocks from the Manske Roll Bakery. While the Manske Grill didn’t open until 1940’s and Johnson graduated in 1930, Johnson encountered the delightful creation on one of his numerous trips back to San Marcos for political functions. Once in office, LBJ had the delicious rolls sent to the White House, perhaps to enjoy a piece of his younger, less stressful days.
